Your Acupuncturist
Mary Wetterstrand is a Licensed Acupuncturist, and National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) Diplomate in Oriental Medicine. She is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, where she earned a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2010.
As an adjunct to her internship at Pacific College, Mary gained experience as a volunteer practitioner at the Veteran's Alternative Healthcare Project in Chicago. In addition, she provided acupuncture treatments to fellow service members during deployments to Afghanistan and Germany. Mary closed her private practice in 2015 to gain additional experience at the Veterans Administration Medical Center pain clinic in Boston, MA. She has since returned to the Chicagoland area.
Mary served in the US Army Reserves from 1994-2007 and the US Air Force Reserves from 2007-2017, primarily as a medic. She is a recreational obstacle course racer, trail runner, and triathlete. Mary believes each person has a unique path to wellness, and that the whole-person approach used in TCM addresses these specific needs.
